Now that my dad has decided to breed just the torts it was decided that I would take over the greys for 2010 and I intend to keep the stud at nine does in total. A lot of success has been attained with the Kitwood greys with 'Kitwood dreamer' being a well know exhibition rabbit. in his first show season he won 12 Best in Show awards and I believe 22 Best of Breed certificates. Winning the National ASS in 2008 & 2009 were his greatest achievements. Winning the Gold Shield was a trophy I think the rabbit richly deserved. i think it will be a long time before we see a rabbit win as much, but who knoes, that rabbit may be bred in 2012. Also at the 2009 National ASS the grey doe class was won by this stud of greys. This year a nice young grey doe won the Yorkshire Area YSS and was Best of Breed at the Coventry summer show (who were host to Midland Counties area show where Best in Show was won by the blue buck). We had high hopes for this rabbit at the National YSS but was unfortunately beated for the first place in the grey doe class by its half sister. only time will tell on whether I can keep this small stud producing winning rabbits but there is no doubt in the quality of the stock that I have inherited. The stud has been formed around 'Kitwood Dreamer' over the last few years so hopefully the quality will keep appearing in the forthcoming nests.
